Mimos Pillow XXL (5 to 18 months)

This size has been designed for use between 5 to 18 months. Mimos XXL is a thicker and wider pillow than Mimos XL. Its special design is meant for babies who have attained certain degree of mobility and they manage to pull out of the XL size during sleep. This usually happens around 6 to 8 months of age (earlier when awake). Mimos XXL provides more space for a growing head and makes it a bit more difficult to move out while preserving free rotational movement of the head and neck.

When using this pillow you won't see the benefits as fast as you can see them with the sizes L and XL since at this age the head growth slows down and you will need several months to appreciate a difference on your baby head shape. Success level varies depending on the size and thickness of the fontanels. Some babies can achieve great results 12-18 months if they have big fontanels and a thin skull bone while others might not experience any improvement past 12 months.

Mimos pillow is not designed to help you position your baby in any certain way. It works by allowing a natural non forced sleeping posture and relieving the pressure from the back of the head.

Just place your baby head on the center of the pillow cavity and allow him to sleep as she please as long as the head stays in the cavity. She will turn the head from side to side and that is a very good thing since she is reinforcing her neck muscles and by that reducing side preference. We believe this is a more sensible strategy than forcing the baby to stay on a certain position.

Important:

Mimos Pillow is designed to help reduce pressure under the baby's head, in babies that sleep on their backs in accordance with the "Back to sleep" Campaign for SIDS prevention.

CAUTION: This pillow does not guarantee sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) prevention.
WARNING: This product does not guarantee complete plagiocephaly prevention or correction.
WARNING: The infant's head should be placed on the pillow cavity and facing up, NEVER place the baby facing the pillow.

I case of doubt consult your pediatrician to understand if this is the right solution for your baby. Some conditions like Craniosynostosis produce similar head shape but require specific treatment.

CAUTION:The possibility of developing plagiocephaly is influenced by many factors including nutrition, multiple pregnancy and third party caregivers. Mimos pillow reduces the pressure under the head thereby helping prevent plagiocephaly. Individual results may vary.
